This
A-frame house is constructed entirely of Daeng wood, the same
wood used in Thai Longtail boats. Daeng is a hardwood similar
in strength and structure to teak. It is naturally insect
and weather resistant but has been thoroughly treated
nevertheless.

The entire house is raised 3.5
feet (1.2m) off the ground by eight reinforced concrete and
steel girder platforms, each with a base foundation 6 feet (2m)
deep into the sand. The crawl space under the house can be used
for extra storage or to house chickens. The ground is entirely beach
sand.
