CHALONG BEACH PHUKET
The beach, like all Phuket
beaches, changes depending on the time of year. During high
season, November to March, the sea currents are calm and flow
in such a direction that the beaches are fairly clean and
sandy. But the monsoon season, April to July, can disrupt the
waters and wash ashore all kinds of interesting things.

The tides vary greatly, shown below is a typical
tide. However, it can reach a much higher or lower level. The beach can not
compare with the West coast beaches of Phuket, but nonetheless, it's
conveniently just a few steps away.

During the
monsoon season, the high tide
water line has been known to reach the level of the concrete sea
wall, with some waves coming over during storms. The waves in the bay have
reached a height of 1 foot, (.3m) while typically they are about
a quarter of a foot (.1m) in height.
